dc.description.abstract ABSTRACT ORGANIZATION OF CHAPTERS There are seven chapters included in the thesis. (i) Chapter one deals with "Introduction to terrorism and national security, and LTTE terrorism in Sri Lanka”. (ii) . Chapter two deals with “Terrorism: Definition, Theories and Other Important Aspects” (iii) Chapter three deals with “National security concepts of states; national security of small states, third world countries and national security concerns of India”. (iv) Chapter four deals with the “Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) organization in Sri Lanka and terrorist activities during the period year 1977 to year 2007. Emergence and growth of LTTE organization; terrorist activities and the ethnic conflict”. (v) Chapter five deals with “Examination of impact of LTTE terrorist activities on national security of Sri Lanka”. (vi) Chapter six deals with “State response to LTTE terrorism”. The military response and the non-military response are discussed in this chapter. (vii) Chapter seven deals with “Conclusions”. en_US
