dc.description.abstract Food legumes are an important component in upland cropping systems of subsistence farmers in Sri Lanka. The objective of this study was to understand the factors responsible for the gap between potential yield and farmer yield in Kurunegala district. Results revealed that information on improved varieties of cowpea {Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp), greengram (Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek) and groundnut {Arachis hypogaea L.) and on better management practices have not reached the farmers. en_US
