dc.description.abstract There is a rapid development of global tourism nowadays. It is also found that many environmental issues arise day by day. These issues can be observed in the field of Sri Lankan profile of tourism too. In order to prevent it, the industry of environmental tourism has identified a new access.Therefore it can be observed various sources pertaining to the industry of tourism. Among them, the predominant features are wild life parks, botanical gardens, maritime areas, zoological gardens etc. In considering the Sri Lankan geomorphology, it can be observed that there is a potentiality for tourism close to waterfalls. It is regret to say that special attention has not been paid in the development of the environmental tourism industry. This study, based on the geomorphology in the vicinity of Duvili Ella waterfall at Kaltota in Ratnapura District, proves that the environmental tourism industry can be developed. Among the formation of waterfalls, Duvili Ella can be considered as a rare formation. In paying special attention to the field of eco-tourism, for the development of eco-tourism industry based on Kalthota Duvili Ella waterfall, it is quite clear that this is a new profile which has been investigated with the potentiality of developing such a national heritage. en_US
