dc.description.abstract An Anemometer is a device for measuring wind speed and is a common instrument used at weather stations. Weather stations such as Meteorology department need to measure both wind speed and the wind dkection for making weather forecast. Anemometer with a wind vane has been designed and constructed. A digital compass and a picket fence are used to measure wind directions and wind speeds respectively. Arduino board is used to calculate the wind direction and wind speed. The readings are displayed on an LCD screen and stored screen and stored in a SD-card. This is a user friendly instrument could be manufactured at a low cost. en_US
