Factors Affecting Postgraduate Student’s Intention in Using an E-examination System During the Covid-19 Pandemic: Application of UTAUT Model
Kamalasena, B.D.T.M.; Sirisena, A.B.
The emergence of COVID-19 has compelled higher educational institutions across the globe to embrace remote learning as a medium of teaching. Furthermore, as a method of evaluation e-exam systems are widely used at present. Considering the e-exam systems, prior research has mainly focused on technological advancements and how to overcome technological barriers in using e-exam systems. Behavioral aspects of students have been taken into consideration in this study, which focuses on identifying the factors affecting postgraduate student’s intention in using the e-examination system during the Covid-19 pandemic. To accomplish this objective modified UTAUT model was used and the required data was collected from 167 postgraduates in Sri Lankan state universities chosen through the purposive sampling method. A self-administered questionnaire was distributed among the sample and the analysis was done using Smart PLS-SEM and SPSS software. The findings revealed that except for social influence and facilitating conditions, all the other variables have a significant impact on behavioral intention to use e-exam systems, and considering the mediating effect of performance expectancy and effort expectancy, the relationships between computer anxiety and behavioral intention and fear of infectious diseases and behavioral intention are mediated by the performance expectancy and effort expectancy. In terms of theoretical implications, this study fills the existing gap in the literature about the student’s perspective on using an e-exam system, and from the managerial point of view, the insights of this enhancing the performance, habit, and reducing the effort of using an e-exam system the university students can be adapted to use e-exam systems even in future.

A Bibliometric Analysis of Data Governance Research: Trends, Collaborations, and Future Directions
Abeykoon, B.B.D.S.; Sirisena, A.B.
Research on data governance has been shaped by an excessive number of articles published in recent decades. The research study used bibliometric techniques to examine 757 journal articles in the Scopus database and it shows a dynamic growth of the topic in the selected years from 2012 to 2022. The methodology is based on the performance analysis technique and science mapping technique in bibliometric analysis. The results explore the contribution to the domain in terms of authors, sources, and countries, disclose the network between the countries and scholars relevant to the publications, and provide research areas that need more attention which drives data governance. Data protection, data access, artificial intelligence, data management, cloud computing, blockchain, and data transformation are among the areas where there is a lack of information, therefore academics should pay closer attention to them in the future. The authors observed that a wide range of disciplines have been used to address the topic of data governance. The study lays the foundation for academics, practitioners, and policymakers to conduct more future research and leads to advancing data governance research.

Impact of Psychological Empowerment of Organizational Citizenship Behaviour: A Study of Private Insurance Companies in the Northern Province, Sri Lanka
Raveendran, T.
Organizational citizenship behaviour of employees is one of the main factors for successful operations of insurance businesses and thus there is a need for examining the determinants of organizational citizenship behaviour. This study aims to investigate psychological empowerment as a determinant of organizational citizenship behaviour among employees in the insurance sector in the Northern Province of Sri Lanka. A survey strategy was employed in a cross-sectional time horizon. The present study was explanatory and a sample of 192 employees working in the private insurance companies in the Northern Province of Sri Lanka was selected based on convenience sampling technique. Confirmatory factor analysis was performed to ascertain validity and reliability and the validated measurement models of the study constructs were integrated in the structural equation model using AMOS software. The results of structural model revealed that the meaning cognition and the competence cognition of psychological empowerment positively impact organizational citizenship behaviour and the impact of competence cognition is high than the meaning cognition. The findings stress the need for empowerment of employees for promoting organizational citizenship behaviour among the employees of insurance sector. The insurance sector administrators will be able to apply the study’s findings for improving employees’ organizational citizenship behaviour.

Business Rules Driven Automated Quality Assurance Governance System for Higher Education

Business Rules Driven Automated Quality Assurance Governance System for Higher Education
Pushpakumara, H.M.C.; Jayaweera, P.M.; Wanniarachchige, M.K.
Although higher education institutes have paid serious attention to quality assurance, implementation issues have been reported frequently. Since the existing information systems do not adequately support automatic verification, manual verification of quality assurance compliances has become a challenge. Therefore, this study first analysed the prevailing higher education quality assurance context to identify the prevailing issues. Secondly, Quality Assurance Governance System integrated with a quality assurance rule manipulation mechanism was designed based on the business rules concept to address the identified issues. Thirdly, the key modules of the proposed Quality Assurance Governance System were developed as a proof-of-concept. Finally, the proposed quality assurance rules manipulation mechanism and modules of the Quality Assurance Governance System were evaluated. The study found that one of the main issues in the existing systems is the lack of integration among various modules and a rule manipulation mechanism. Therefore, the study concludes that quality assurance requirements could be better captured as rules using the proposed rule templates, while rule manipulations and compliance could be verified in real-time through the proposed Quality Assurance Governance System. Nevertheless, the results of the evaluation suggest that rigid rule implementations may make the system inflexible and create stakeholder resistance. Thus, this can be mitigated by implementing the proposed rule enforcement levels.
