Abstract:
In steel-concrete hybrid structures the adequacy of material/member connections is a key issue
for the sufficient structural performance. In this paper, findings of two research work on material and
member connections are summarized. According to the result of sustained loading test of headed stud, a
considerable increase in the slip displacement is observed due to the creep deformation in concrete
around stud. Then, the numerical simulation is introduced for the steel member-concrete member of joint
connection in hybrid PC Langer bridge, using three-dimensional nonlinear finite element analysis. The
design of the joint is verified from the point of load-carrying mechanism.
