Abstract:
In an era where technology plays an
increasingly significant role in human
lives, artificial intelligence (AI) is advancing
beyond functional automation to
provide emotionally intelligent and supportive
interactions. Advancements in AI
enable virtual assistants and complex algorithms
to emulate human warmth, a trait
traditionally viewed as exclusive to human
interactions. This progression is evident
in various applications, including empathetic
virtual agents and emotion-aware
systems (Yalçın & DiPaola, 2020; Mc-
Duff & Czerwinski, 2018). This evolution
is crucial, particularly within the Human
Resources Management (HRM) Landscape,
where emotional intelligence and
empathy are vital to nurturing employee
well-being, satisfaction, and engagement.
As AI learns to simulate empathy and responsiveness
(Yalçın & DiPaola, 2020),
it fosters new relationships that redefine
how humans connect and the technology
around them. This article explores how AI
has developed these empathetic capabilities
in recent years, particularly within
HRM. It projects its future impact on human
and AI relationships.
